This family was just too much fun to photograph. We met up at an apple orchard and had a great time rolling in the leaves, drinking AMAZING apple cider, and finding the perfect spots to shoot in.
I think this is my favorite shot from the whole day. His smile is contagious!

What a fun day!
The week before Thanksgiving was simply overflowing with autumn colors. What better to do with a beautiful day than to use it as the backdrop for this lovely family. Their little boy is eight months old and, as you'll see, just lights up when he's in his parents' arms.
Cuddling with Mom in the fall leaves. It's the little things that make a shot sometimes. I've fallen in love with the thumb in his mouth - he was teething like crazy! And mom's scrunched nose - so sweet!

This little man was a dream to work with and his dad was my kind of guy with all of the goo-goo faces and funny sounds to try to make him laugh. Here are a few of my favorites from the day:

The moment I met these two, I knew we'd hit it off. Mom loves being pregnant and simply glows with anticipation and Dad is calm, strong and kind. What a beautiful home for a little one to come into.

When a good friend of mine, Robyn, suggested that we do a photo shoot of some of her closest friends for a birthday gift, I was all about it. How fun! A bunch of girls getting together just to have fun in front of camera. Sounded like my kind of thing.

Can you tell whose birthday it was? Hmmm...
Had to have a picture in front of a fire truck! We tried to find a few "big-biceped" handsome fire fighters, but no luck...they were actually working. What the heck? ;-P
One of the themes of the shoot was rain boots since we weren't sure if it was going to rain that day. The sun was shining brilliantly, but we went for it anyway and I love it.
I promised to give a shout-out for the Black Rooster. The owners are super sweet folks who provided us with delicious edibles to fuel us through our shoot. Next time you're in Historic Folsom, check it out - it's a great place to meet up with friends.

Just so you know, Kelly (in the picture above) has a wonderful pilates studio in Sacramento - Purely Pilates. I have a client who goes to the studio for the prenatal pilates program and she says she LOVES it.
I've been thinking about this session since the day I shot it and I couldn't wait to get some time away from shooting to start working some Photoshop magic on these images and now I can see why. I'm completely struck by this little angel of a girl.
This image has stolen my heart. I'm completely in love with it. I want to print it out and put it on MY wall!

These girls were so much fun to photograph. Shy at first but they warmed up quickly, soon showing me their gorgeous smiles and open hearts. What a joy it is for a photographer to ask two sisters to hug and they do it without hesitation. They made my day. :-)

I definitely have a special place in my heart for this little man. He is the famous baby that graces the front of my website and the top of this blog. Plus, who couldn't go gaga over his big blue eyes and infectious smile. I have to say I adore his parents as well and have become good friends with them since I first met them for their newborn session.
