I had the fortune to be approached by Sacramento Magazine, one of the largest magazines in town, to be interviewed about my newborn photography. It was a pleasure meeting Marybeth Bizjack, the reporter for the article and I had a chance to tell her all about working with these sweet angels. The March issue is on stands now!

Please excuse the scanning job - I wanted to get it up here on the blog as soon as possible to show the moms and dads how beautiful their babies are! Thank you, everybody!
Hi All - hope you had a beautiful Christmas and have something fun cooked up for New Years. I wanted to show you some pictures from a wonderful session I had with little Olive. She was a good eater (and therefore a good sleeper) and let us do just about everything we wanted to.
And, to top it all off, Olive surprised us with quite a few smiles throughout the session. Mom told me that she loves the sound of her Daddy's voice and it was true -- every time he talked to her, she would smile, even when she was sleeping!
My goodness. At six days old, this little boy just captured my heart at first glance with his chick-fuzz hair and big, bright eyes. Mom and dad were super easy-going and have a great sense of style, so I knew we'd get some great shots, but I know I'm dealing with some serious cute-factor when I catch myself going "Awwww!" and getting all gooey while editing the photographs!
What a pose...love it.
Best hair -- EVER!
All toasty and bundled. Such a delight.
Bathed in light and admiration.
Tiny fingers. Imagine what it will be like to look back on this photo in 20 years.
Here are a few of my favorites from a newborn session with a lovely family that I had the pleasure of photographing this last week. They welcomed their little boy, Michael, into the world and what a perfect addition he is to this beautiful family.
Michael didn't want to fall asleep and insisted on hanging out with us -- fine with me because I was able to capture his handsome baby blues.
In the end, he passed out and showed us the sleeping angel that he is. Love his little index finger in this shot!
As a side note, my mom visited me last week and, as I was showing her a newborn Session Album that had recently created, she said in a low voice, "You know, we never had anything like this for you guys. I really wish that we had."
At that moment, I imagined what it would have been like to see my parents as they were when I was born, to see them kissing as they held me in their arms, to see the love in their eyes.
When I create my images, I like to think that, one day, this little newborn baby will be an adult and will have these pictures to look back on, to remember his parents as young, loving, adventurous individuals who wanted to share their life with another human being. I want that for you and your children -- memories captured.
Baby Finn...oh, how sweet you were and how yummy you smelled! You were so good for us...slept a little, woke up a little, and slept a little more.
He treated us to his angelic slumber...
...and his perfect smile.
I was very proud of big sis -- only two and she was so willing to help and be a good sister.
Check her out...not every two-year-old will do this!
It's times like this that I feel very lucky to be doing what I'm doing -- I'm warmly welcomed into people's homes and lives to share in these private moments with them. I'm often getting to meet the new little member of the family before the grandparents do! Thank you to all of the moms and dads who have trusted me with their precious bundles and allowed me to capture these fleeting, yet perfect, moments in time.
