Today, I met with Leal Thompson, founder of Mad Hatters, to find out more about what her amazing group is doing. Started in 2002, Mad Hatters has now grown from 5 people to over 522 generous members who donate their time (and yarn) towards making thousands of hats for newborn babies, chemo caps for cancer patients, as well as afghans, lap robes and slippers.
Here are a few of the beauties that I received as a gift from Mad Hatters for my client's to use (so if you have a newborn session coming up, you can take advantage of these if you like!):
Mad Hatters is a non-profit organization, and they never sell hats, but any donations are welcomed (they use a SERIOUS amount of yarn). Donations can be mailed to:
Mad Hatters
3941 Park Drive, Suite 20-102
El Dorado Hills, CA 95762
Your check can be made out to "El Dorado Hills Community Vision, Inc." Your donation will be tax deductible.
For more information, you can email Leal at leal.thompson@yahoo.com.
Thank you for your support!
